  • Missouri History is located on our main floor and has a private and spacious sitting room. The leather sofa and wing chairs make it the ideal spot for holding small meetings. Set your computer up on the antique desk to check e-mail or surf the web. The bedroom features a hand-crafted four poster queen-sized bed and the separate bath has a lighted tub/shower. This room is accessible for people with disabilities.

  • Located on the second floor, Literature is a gracious, comfortable room with a blend of antique and modern furnishings including a hand-crafted Tiger Maple four poster queen-sized bed. The sitting area offers matching wing chairs, warm lighting, a beautiful, handmade area rug, and antique desk perfect for composing your work or leisure correspondence. The bathroom is nicely equipped with a jetted tub and lighted shower.

  • A cozy room located on the second floor, Wildlife Conservation features a queen-sized Shaker style bed with antique copper lamps at the bedside. The sitting area makes both leisure and work easy with a convenient desk area and comfortable wing chairs. A lighted shower and in-room pedestal sink add character to this suite decorated in warm burgundy and green.
    $129 per night

  • A matched pair of queen-sized iron beds is the focal point of this beautiful second floor room. Dressed in cheery blues, whites and yellows, this room makes you feel happy the moment you walk through the door. The spacious bathroom is complete with a large vanity, jetted tub and lighted shower. Two wing chairs provide the perfect spot to curl up with a good book. The Textiles and Literature rooms may be connected via a charming private balcony overlooking the Main Foyer.
    $159 per night (1-2 guests) or $179 per night (3-4 guests)

  • Also known as the penthouse suite, this spacious room is located on the third floor of The Gathering Place. This spectacular room features an inviting king-sized white iron bed wrapped in deep red toile linens. The separate sitting room has a sofa and flat-screened TV making it the perfect place to catch an afternoon nap. The spacious bath repeats the red toile theme and offers guests a relaxing soak in the two-person corner Jacuzzi tub while enjoying the warm light streaming in through the skylight. The suite's foyer is lighted by a gleaming brass chandelier hung from the domed ceiling.
    $199 per night

Guests of the Gathering Place have access to award-winning MU Rec Center for a nominal fee during their stay. The Rec Center was voted the No. 1 Student Recreation Complex by Sports Illustrated in 2005.

Guests also have access to MU's University Club, a members-only five-star dining establishment. There you will enjoy cuisine directed by award-winning, Executive Chef Daniel Pliska CEC and his accredited culinary team.

Policies

All rates are per room, double occupancy. There is a $20 charge for each additional person in a guest room.

Arrival & Departure

  • Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m.

  • For arrivals before 4:00 p.m., accommodations can be made for parking and bag drop-off with advance notice.

  • Late arrivals require special arrangements, please notify us if you plan on arriving after 8 p.m.

  • Check-out is 11 a.m.

  • Free parking behind the building.

Cancellations

In the event of cancellation no charge will be made if cancellation is more than 48 hours prior to arrival. If cancellation is less than 48 hours prior to arrival, there will be a $50 charge.

Deposits

We do not take deposits but we do ask for a credit card to guarantee the reservation.

Breakfast Guests

If an overnight guest would like to invite a guest for breakfast, they can be accommodated in most circumstances. Please prearrange this with the innkeeper -- a breakfast charge will be added to the guest's bill at the time the request is authorized.

Reservations

Advance reservations are required and are secured with a credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Discover). Final payment is accepted with credit or debit card or travelers check.

Non-Smoking

For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, no smoking is allowed in the rooms or inside the Inn. Smoking on the property is limited to an outdoor garden area. Any evidence of violation of the non-smoking policy will result in a $200 cleaning fee.

Children

The Inn does not meet the needs of children (including infants) less than 14 years of age.

Pets

We are unable to accommodate pets.
